Variable Valves are Bad for the BMW R1250GS - Review

Author by: FortNine

  1. I dont give a shit about this boring ass motorcycle …BUT because this is the best motorcycle channel on the planet, I'll watch to the end, and like the video.

  2. Thatโ€™s why i still have my 2016 GSA. Enough power for me. I use it for touring because it fits me. I do like the new Kawi Versus and wish Yamaha would do some updates on the Super Tenere like put the damn triple in it and get rid of the v-twin!!

  3. We'll see if there's really a problem with reliability. I don't expect that. I don't care if the idea is new, it works great and fulfills my needs. Never heard of anyone having problems with the hill break. This bike handles much better than most of the competition although it may have a few kilos more. I wont do motocross with it.
May be an honest opinion in the video but it has no connection to my experiences so far.

  4. Finally!!! AN HONEST review on a 30,000 over engineered machine. I have a 2009 F800GS. It doesnt weigh a million pounds, still is quick, has more ground clearance, just as good in corners, and im not afraid to scuff a bike worth more than a nice car. r1250gs and r1200gs (newer models) or so big and clunky that they've lost a lot of their off-road ability in my opinion.

  5. Yes! Itโ€™s a needlessly complex, overpriced, overweight bike, and not really an adventure bike at all. Sport tourer is just right…

  6. FINALLY. Someone agrees with me.

Shin shattering. Indeed. And not just offroad.

I test rode one two years ago and bashed my shins every single time getting on, off or stopping. Not for me.

  7. Maybe I'm dumb, but what I said for years now is: if you want variable valves, just ditch the camshaft and use microprocessor controlled, electromagnetic valves. Duh.

  8. Can we get a review of the best beginner bike in class for this year. Cruiser, adventure, touring, etc? Asking for a friend.

  9. V Strom's Rock!
Bikes break and need to be maintained. Vstrom keeps it simple (cheap to maintain and keep running) and delivers a lot. At a price that your average "blue coller" can afford. I am so glad I got one as my first bike. It would be almost impossible for a bike to fit my wants and needs any better.

  10. Of course there are many other bikes they can do simular things with a GS. But can you explain me why in the last 35 years all these bikes are tranformed and try to look like the gs? Some of them look also like birds ๐Ÿง with a beak in front. And why after all they use the GS as a reference bike to compair there own bikes?
Don't try to find the answer. It is the same story, why there are people prefer i-phones instead of Android.

P.S : If the the electronic cam shaft sensor breaks down, you can go on and ride without the extra power in the high revs. There are 47 other electronic sensors all over the bike, like most of the 21 century bikes, to worry about, if they break down. And after all, everything (electronical or mechanical parts) works fine, until the time that they doesn't work anymore.๐Ÿ˜‰

PS 2: If somebody wait 3 weeks and smell the roses in China until the "special tool" arrives, then probobly he have no fingers in the hands ๐Ÿ˜‰

P.S 3: If among the GS Haters, are some with an i-phone in there pocket, they are not allowed to express there hate for the GS๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. Na junge was soll den so einen Bericht… BMW R1250GS, es ist Deutscheskunstbau Edel. Ryan, Ryan, Ryan now youโ€™ve gone and angered the motorcycle gods…. time to turn in your BMW MOA card… ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
